Pojok NTB – The 2026 MotoGP Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia Riders Parade has become a key moment for the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Provincial Government to welcome the riders while showcasing the region’s cultural heritage to an international audience.
Head of the NTB Tourism and Creative Economy Office, Ahmad Nur Aulia, said the Riders Parade provided an opportunity for MotoGP riders to reconnect with the people of Mataram and fans who had already arrived in the region.
“This is a moment for the riders to greet the people of Mataram again, as well as MotoGP fans who have already arrived in Mataram,” Ahmad Nur Aulia said.
He said the parade also served as a warm welcome from NTB as the host of the 2026 Indonesian MotoGP. The event features not only cultural performances from NTB but also performances from other regions across Indonesia.
Ahmad hopes the Riders Parade will build greater excitement around the 2026 MotoGP and further amplify the atmosphere ahead of the race at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit.
“With the Riders Parade, we hope the momentum of the 2026 Indonesian MotoGP will be heard more widely and become even more vibrant as we approach the race,” he said.
Beyond motorsport, Ahmad emphasized that MotoGP should provide broader benefits for NTB’s various regional potentials.
The 2026 event also marks NTB’s fifth year as a MotoGP host.
“We certainly hope that the momentum of hosting MotoGP can be more inclusive and generate greater benefits and impact for all the potential that our region has,” he said.
According to Ahmad, the benefits should extend beyond tourism and the creative economy. The event also provides an opportunity to introduce NTB’s culture to the international stage.
“It is not only about tourism and the creative economy, but also about introducing our culture and other potential,” he said.
Ahmad described MotoGP as a major platform for NTB to promote its destinations, creative industries and cultural heritage to a global audience.
“This is a momentum for us to introduce and amplify our region to the world,” he said.
He added that around 2,000 media channels, particularly television networks, are expected to cover the 2026 MotoGP event.
With such extensive international exposure, NTB hopes the MotoGP will serve not only as a world-class sporting event, but also as a platform to promote its tourism destinations, creative products and rich cultural heritage to audiences around the world.
