Pojok NTB – The Provincial Government of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) continues to strengthen cross-regional synergies to improve air transportation connectivity and support quality tourism development in eastern Indonesia. This commitment was highlighted during the 2026 Coordination Meeting of the Regional Airport Authority Office IV, held at the Crowne Plaza Labuan Bajo Hotel on Tuesday (27/1/2026).
Representing the Governor of NTB, the Head of the NTB Provincial Development Planning Agency (Bappeda), Baiq Nelly Yuniarti, AP., M.Si., attended the meeting along with the Secretary of Bappeda, the Head of Infrastructure and Regional Affairs, and a Functional Planning Officer (JF Planner) of NTB Bappeda. The coordination meeting served as a strategic forum bringing together representatives from the central government, regional governments, and aviation industry stakeholders to align policies aimed at enhancing the safety, security, and quality of air transportation services across Bali, NTB, and NTT.
On the occasion, the Head of the Bali Provincial Transportation Agency emphasized the importance of strengthening interregional connectivity. He noted that the acceleration of mass land transportation development in Bali is essential to reduce congestion, while at the same time reinforcing air connectivity with NTB and NTT to support international events and the growth of high-quality tourism.
Meanwhile, the Head of NTB Provincial Bappeda, Baiq Nelly Yuniarti, underlined the need to integrate tourism development with regional connectivity. She explained that NTB is promoting quality tourism through the PU 5 and PU 10 NTB Connected policies, which focus on the integration of air and sea infrastructure.
“NTB is advancing quality tourism by integrating air and sea connectivity, including opportunities to develop seaplane routes between Bali and Lombok, as well as optimizing flight services to make them more efficient and sustainable,” she said.
Supportive policies from the central government were also a key topic of discussion during the meeting. The Head of the NTT Provincial Transportation Agency expressed hope that the Ministry of Transportation would open new international routes and further strengthen Bali–NTB–NTT connectivity, particularly to support the development of Super Priority Tourism Destinations.
This cross-regional synergy is expected to enhance regional connectivity, drive sustainable tourism growth, and improve the competitiveness of eastern Indonesia at both national and international levels.
